For the first time ever, West Virginia’s Department of Education and Community and Technical College System are offering grants, made possible by federal Perkins funds, to support collaborations in career and technical education between K-12 schools and community and technical collegesWith $785,000 available in its inaugural year, the Perkins Collaborative Reserve Grant program will support projects that include at least one of the following priorities:
- Dual enrollment for students to explore and engage in college and careers;
- Work-based learning and skills in high-need workforce areas; and,
- Industry-recognized credentials to align with business and industry standards.

Eligibility:
All grant proposals must represent a PARTNERSHIP between a secondary and post-secondary educational institution – specifically, a K-12 school its regional community and technical college.
Grant awards are available through an annual application process. The number of grants awarded and the level at which they are funded will be determined by the number of applicants and availability of funds.
Timeline:
For this first year of the grant program, applications are accepted August 1, 2021 through June 1, 2022. Proposals must be submitted electronically: Reserve Grant Application.
Projects may begin as early as October 1, 2021 and must be completed by April 30, 2023.
